Naming opportunities
From dedicating a wing of the hospital, like the Schwab family did when they sponsored the cancer center, to naming a room or dedicating a cancer block for our tribute wall, opportunities abound to leave a lasting legacy that will bless future patients at UPMC Western Maryland.
Cancer blocks can be dedicated in honor or in memory of a patient. They reflect just what you want to say and are unveiled at a ceremony with or without clinical staff present. These very meaningful gifts are displayed on our Cancer Tribute Wall outside the cancer center, off the first floor lobby. Gifts come in two sizes and represent a donation of $500 or $1,000 to the cancer center.
Room-naming opportunities represent a permanent aluminum, engraved plaque with the name of the person, family, or organization being honored. Sizes vary based on the gift and begin with a minimum $10,000 donation to the Foundation. We work individually with our donors to ensure the room selected is in the department you wish to bless.
